I have to give a heart felt thank you to Dr. Jody Carrington for her Hello Hero virtual event November 5. Therapists should be considered front line workers for they too do such vital and amazing work!
My take away from the event is that each of us has the ability to be heroes to someone…but we have to have the courage to show up, to be present for them. Courage is not the absence of fear, it is going in and as Dr. Jody says, “walking each other home” in spite of it. So for all our front line workers, our therapists, our family, our friends and even strangers, who have courageously ‘sat with’ another person in their pain and suffering…THANK YOU for showing up, it is truly a gift beyond measure.
As we enter this season of giving, I am reminded of and grateful for the present of presence.
Sending peace and love to everyone.
